Teachers of elementary schools arrested for indecent images

Police arrested two primary school teachers in Japan for having taken and shared indecent images of young girls in a discussion group with their teaching colleagues.
The two men, a 42 -year -old teacher in a public school in Nagoya and a 37 -year -old man based in a Yokohama public school, admitted to having taken photos and videos of girls under the age of 13, local police told the BBC.
The images – including the so -called Upskirt photographs – were then shared in the group of 10 primary and high school teachers, which was managed by one of the stops.
Japan only recently prohibited filming and secret filming of sexual acts in the context of broader reforms on sexual crime.
The teacher’s cat group was revealed after one of the teachers involved was arrested for “putting body fluids” on the backpack of a 15 -year -old backpack, Japanese Asahi Shimbun reported.
A medico-legal examination of his mobile phone then led to the discovery of the cat group, which was hosted on an unnamed social media platform. The shared material included Upskirt photographs, as well as clips of girls who change, and what seemed to be “deep” created from shots at the head of girls.
Some of these photographs seemed to have been taken in the schools, the police said, but it is not clear if they are the schools were members of the groups taught.
In May 2023, as part of a broader overhaul of its centenary laws on sexual crimes, after several rape acquittals in 2019, caused an uproar.
More specifically, the laws prohibit the filming of children “in a sexual way without justifiable reason”.
The offenders are likely to imprison up to three years or a fine of up to up to 3 million Japanese yen (£ 15,160; $ 20,800).
The 2023 reforms to Japan sexual crime laws have also expanded the definition of rape and increased the age of consent from 13 to 16 years.
