Taylor Swift responds to backlash over her non-stop presence

Taylor Swift has responded to critics who find her presence a little excessive.

During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on December 10, to promote its new Disney+ docuseries The end of an era, she shared a message to people who wish she would “go away.”

“I think what I admire most in people is the longevity of their careers – the longevity of their careers, the longevity of their friendships, the longevity of their relationships, how do you keep a good thing going? I think there are certain corners of our society that really love that and admire longevity,” Taylor explained.

But that’s not the case for everyone, she noted, adding: “There are also corners that say, ‘Give the ride to someone else. Can’t you just leave so we can talk about how good you are?’ And I’m like, I don’t want to, you know? »

The popstar concluded her Eras tour in 2024 and releases or re-releases at least one album every year.

She further spoke about her career-long tour, calling it something special.

“I think what I thought at first was…we were seeing all this crazy demand for touring, but I kind of just chalked it up to the fact that I’ve put out like five albums, I haven’t had a chance to tour any of them, there’s just a growing demand,” she noted.

“I didn’t realize it was going to be like that until you started hearing about people’s experiences on the show, because my whole life I’ve been trying to study how you don’t just entertain people, but really take them out of their problems, out of their lives, out of their stress? How can you really create a sense of escape?”

She quickly realized that her Eras tour was different from her previous ones when she was “reading articles where medical professionals were diagnosing… all these fans who were coming to the Eras tour with post-concert amnesia, they were having fainting spells and I was like, ‘Oh man, I think this one’s different.’

THE End of an era The first two parts of the docuseries are set to release on December 12 on Disney+.
