Taylor Swift shared the sweet and surprising story of how Travis Kelce pulled off his surprise proposal, turning a regular day into something unforgettable.
During his last appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonher first in nearly three years, the 14-time Grammy Winnwe revealed what started as a seemingly normal day centered around a podcast they planned together became a carefully orchestrated romantic proposal.
“So basically, I think for Travis, the podcast was kind of like a sort of distraction to keep me from looking out the windows of the house,” she told Jimmy Fallon. “It’s as if the drape is entirely like flowing curtains on every window in the entire house.”
She further revealed that the NFL star was acting nervous, which was unusual for him, and it invoked her. She could tell something bigger was happening than just a podcast.
However, since they had talked about doing the podcast and announcing his album, so she assumed that was what was making him anxious.
“He said, ‘My heart is beating. Gorgeous Singer recalled. “I’ve never seen this guy nervous ever.”
Later at one point, the Kansas City Chiefs suggested walking around the backyard with a glass of wine, something the 35-year-old said she would “always” say yes to. As they walked out, everything suddenly made sense.
The ERA Tour superstar realized that the real reason for the second-hand curtains and her lover’s nervous energy is because he had turned the backyard into a “secret garden” where he got down on one knee and proposed to her.
“It was the best possible case scenario,” she gushed about her Finace boyfriend’s planning. Swift and Kelce got engaged in August.
