TQL offers $ 2,000 resignation for workers

Ken Oaks, CEO of Total Quality Logistics (TQL), would have told employees this week that they could fully commit to the company or make a payment of $ 2,000 to resign.

In an email on the scale of the company sent Wednesday and shared on social networks, Oaks said that the objective was to keep the workers who are “all by” while encouraging those who are less determined to move on.

“We work in a demanding and fast company that forces each of us to be entirely,” wrote Oaks in the message.

It is not clear if the email marks a new program or a rebirth of past offers. In 2015, OAKS extended an $ 2,000 resignation agreement that 53 employees accepted, the Cincinnati Business inquirer said. The former workers said that a similar offer resurfaces in 2019.

TQL, based in Cincinnati, did not respond to a request for comments from Freightwaves by the closing of the business on Thursday. The company, founded by OAKS in 1997, is one of the largest freight brokerage houses in the United States, annual sales exceeding $ 8 billion and more than 9,000 employees in 60 offices.

In 2023, the third -party logistics supplier Steam Logistics also offered employees $ 2,000 to leave the company.

The 3pl of Chattanooga, based in Tennessee, told Freightwaves that he periodically offered the liquidity program for cash-for-space for several years.

“It is simply an offer to anyone in the company, and it is supposed to help people to move on if their hearts are not there in the long term in Steve, the president of Steam logistics, Steve Cox, told Freightwaves in February 2023.” It is rare that whoever acts. But we had a few to hear ourselves, which will do us, probably because of the changing market conditions. “”
