Tanner Bibee, the guards closed the tigers of the majors

Tanner Bibee launched seven impressive rounds to help the Cleveland Guardians at a 7-0 victory against the host of Detroit Tigers Thursday in the opening of a series of four games.
Bibee (4-4) withdrew a top of eight, granted only three strokes and issued a walk while launching 96 throws.
Angel Martinez had a solo circuit stroke and a double of two points and Jose Ramirez succeeded two strokes and a race for Cleveland, who won his second consecutive match after a skid of five games.
The start of the Detroit, Jack Flaherty (2-6), granted three points over three strokes, walked three and withdrew eight, including the 1,000th of his career. On 6 2/3 rounds, he launched 108 throws.
With a 3-0 lead, Cleveland shot Bibee in favor of Tim Herrin in the eighth, and the Tigers began a rally. Detroit loaded the bases on a walk, a simple on the ground and a fly ball that dropped after the Thomas track lost the ball in the lights.
Cade Smith came for Herrin and turned off, removing Akil Baddoo, Zach McKinstry and Riley Greene.
In the ninth, Cleveland nailed four points to do so 7-0, with a double of two points on the left by Martinez serving as a signature.
Matt Festa launched a ninth 1-2-3 to help Cleveland finish a bleaching of five strokes.
Javy Baez had two strokes for Detroit, who has the best record in the majors.
After three goalless rounds, the Guardians pierced with two points in the fourth. After a single to an outing of Ramirez and a walk to Kyle Manzardo, Carlos Santana took a double of two points away in the center to do so 2-0.
In the fifth, Martinez hit a circuit in advance on the right field to give Cleveland a 3-0 lead.
