Squad’s Squad busters transforms the basic gameplay with a major update

Supercell announced that its developers had launched a major update for Squad Busters who would change the main gameplay of the game.
The new heroes, escouaddies and power movements are at the heart of the evolution of the game, designed to offer more strategic choices and direct control during battles.
In less than a year since the global launch of Squad Busters on iOS and Android devices, the team behind the multiplayer action game has sent what Supercell calls the most ambitious game update in the history of Supercell in 15 years. It is an extraordinary decision to try to reverse a game that did not meet the expectations of the players who initially plunged into it.
In response to the feedback of players on a greater strategic depth and direct control over the characters, the basic gameplay of Squad Busters has been transformed by the introduction of heroes and Escouaddies.
Supercell released Squad Busters, his first new game in more than five years, on May 29, 2024, on iOS and Android. Supercell had the reputation of canceling more games than he has released, but those he published was phenomenal successes, often generating billions of current income. “We especially play the new version because it feels so much better,” said Rowlands. “In Squad Busters, there were two aspects of the controls that were difficult for some players.”

“It’s a bit like a big strategic party in terms of many different ways to play the experience,” said Rowlands. “We have had a lot of comments from the players. So the team is now in the battle. They work a bit, but you can now choose the two you are going. And everyone you are unlocking gives you these new unique powers. So it is really fresh and different in terms of what you play.”
He added: “But then, the hearts of the squaddies, and this meli-melo of IPS and these really interesting characters and make these dynamic decisions on the fly with the squadadies are always there. So we think that we really improve what we already have.”
Much of the update work started in November, where the team threw a lot of ideas. Prototyping started in January, then in February, the team went to production with “massive changes,” said Rowlands.
“We do not want to delete things. But, in the end, the quality of the game and the quality of the experience is what we are focusing on, and we had to hit our quality bar. And we have a very high bar in Supercell. And we could have maintained them, but that would simply not have reached the level we wanted,” said Rowlands.
Since its foundation in 2010, Supercell, based in Helsinki, has brought seven games to the world market: Hay Day, Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Squad Busters and Mo.co.
