Spotify increases the price of the premium subscription in the world (but not in the United States … for the moment)

For many global customers, the cost of broadcasting their favorite music on Spotify is about to have a greater impact on their portfolios.

The musical streaming service announced that it increased the monthly price of a premium subscription to 11.99 euros ($ 13.87) from September. Spotify said that the price increase to 1 euro would affect the markets in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, but has not listed countries.

The price of subscribers based in the United States will not increase – at least at the moment. This will probably not last – the company increased the price of one dollar in 2023 and another dollar in 2024. It now costs $ 12.

Spotify did not immediately respond to a request for a comment on the question of whether he had planned to increase the American prices of premium subscriptions.

In his announcement on Monday, Spotify said he introduced prices “so that we can continue to innovate on our product offers and our features, and offer you the best experience”.

The announcement gave a shot in the arm for the spotify’s action during Monday negotiations, with an increase of almost 7% of the course of action in the NYSE. The course of the action had dropped by 11.5% on July 29 after the company’s profit forecasts fell from what analysts had predicted.
