South Syria faces an uncertain calm after fatal clashes that killed more than 1,100


The United Nations reports that more than 128,000 people were moved by a week of sectarian violence in the hearts of Druze in southern Syria, with more than 1,100 deaths. On Sunday, the situation in Sweida province seemed calm, although the forces faithful to the new management remained deployed. Druze militias seem to have driven out their Bedouin rivals from the region.
