Sony’s System 6 offers cinematic sound for a massive discount on Prime Day

It’s the first day times, and one of my favorite sound surprises of 2025 is getting a nice discount. The Sony Bravia Theater System 6 is one of the best soundbar setups I’ve tested this year, offering a unique blend of components that deliver some of the most exciting and musical surround sound you can get for your money. There aren’t a ton of fancy features here, but you’ll get everything you need in one box to take your TV setup from boring to bodacious.

The Bravia Theater System 6 comes in a fairly large box, with its large subwoofer taking up most of the space. The large cabinet serves as both the sound base and the main hub of the 5.1-channel system, offering all inputs and connecting to the slim soundbar via a small flat cable. Inputs include HDMI eARC for seamless TV connection, as well as digital optical and 3.5mm analog input for existing sources.
A small amplifier box connects wirelessly to the subwoofer, while two other flat cables connect the large surround speakers. That’s a lot of cables for a single-box surround system in 2025, but the result is performance that comes refreshingly close to more complex multi-speaker setups. You’ll get bass punch and verve, smooth musicality and balanced dialogue from the bar, and clear, smooth surround channels from the rear speakers. Although there are no upfiring speakers for 3D sound formats like Dolby Atmos, System 6 does a commendable job of virtualizing Atmos.
One thing you won’t get in the package is Wi-Fi support, which means you’ll be limited to Bluetooth streaming and any updates must be done manually with a USB drive, yet another callback to older Home Theater in a Box (HTiB) systems.
A little awkwardness in setup is worth it for the pure cinematic performance offered by the Bravia Theater System 6. It’s worth it for many at full price, but this discount makes it a much easier choice for anyone looking to take their basic TV setup to the next level. If you want to be fully immersed in your movies and TV shows, this setup delivers.
