Smokey Robinson stolen ‘thousands of dollars’ by assault accuser

Smokey Robinson and his wife Frances have requested a temporary restraining order from a Los Angeles court against a woman who accuses the Motown icon of sexual assault.

The 85-year-old legend and his wife said the woman illegally accessed a storage unit they owned and took valuables worth “thousands of dollars,” according to legal documents obtained by Daily mail.

Lawyers for the Detroit-born music icon filed documents Monday, noting that the couple discovered the alleged violation the same day.

Robinson and his wife said the incident – which happened “in secret, with malicious intent” [and] without consent” — took place on Nov. 22, according to legal documents, and was documented by security footage.

Robinson’s attorneys said the woman, identified in court documents as Jane Doe 4, brought two people to help her move boxes out of the storage unit for 40 minutes before leaving.

Christopher Frost, a lawyer representing the Cruise artist, says Daily Mail in a statement that the sequence of events showed how mean-spirited Robinson’s accuser was.

“As absurd as this turn of events may seem, it is yet another example of how Jane Doe 4 and her group of accusers are motivated by greed – even the most petty one,” Frost said, adding, “We are already suing them for financial abuse, conversion and invasion of elder privacy.”

“We are taking swift action to ensure that Jane Doe 4 and those assisting her cannot get near the Robinsons, a couple in their 70s and 80s, as there appears to be no limit to what they are willing to do,” they concluded.

Meanwhile, lawyers for Jane Doe 4 said PEOPLE magazine that the latest series of claims made by Smokey Robinson and his wife “represent a desperate fabrication intended to retaliate against Jane Doe 4 for her damning testimony during her December 5 deposition.”
