After touching hearts with Stars on the groundAamir Khan Productions is now turning the spotlight on the people who quietly shaped the journey behind the scenes. The creators revealed the trailer for Stars of starsa documentary that introduces audiences to the real stars behind the film: the parents of the young actors who starred in the sports comedy-drama.

Stars of stars traces the lives, emotions and daily realities of parents whose children have become the “Sitaare” of Stars on the ground. While the film itself proved to be heartwarming family entertainment and deeply resonated with audiences, the documentary expands that emotional universe by focusing on the journeys that took place off-screen. The trailer offers a glimpse of intimate moments, shared struggles, pride and the process of growing up alongside their children’s dreams.
Directed by Shaanib Bakshi, the documentary is Aamir Khan Productions’ continuation of taking unconventional routes towards storytelling. This follows the studio’s earlier decision to take Stars on the ground available on YouTube through the ‘Janta Ka Theatre’ initiative at a nominal price, a move that challenged traditional distribution models and widened access to audiences across the country.
Stars of stars is set to premiere on December 19, exclusively on Aamir Khan’s YouTube channel Talkies.
The documentary builds on the legacy of Stars on the groundwhich starred Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles and featured ten emerging talents – Aroush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar. The film was directed by RS Prasanna, known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhanand released in theaters on June 20, 2025.
