A source said Bollywood Hungama« Star Studio18, the partner studio and distributor of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2had ensured a release of the film on 500 copies during its second broadcast. But they were only able to secure around 200 to 250 screens. Additionally, most shows took place at unusual times. Venus, the producers of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2were not satisfied with such a release. As a result, the decision was made on Thursday evening, January 8, not to re-release the film at all. »
The source continued: “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 originally released on December 12 and was pulled from theaters as films like Dhurandhar, Avatar: Fire and Ash etc. dominated the window. Venus felt that their film was not sufficiently highlighted and decided to re-release it at a better time. But even when the remaining versions slowed down, they didn’t get the screens they demanded. This is why such a drastic measure was taken.
An industry expert commented: “It now remains to be seen whether Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 would be reissued now at a later date. The film was genuinely appreciated and is one of the few comedies of recent times to have generated a lot of laughter in the cinemas. Let’s hope that such a well-made film gets the award it rightly deserves.
Besides Kapil Sharma, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 stars Manjot Singh, Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhary, Parul Gulati, Ayesha Khan, Akhilendra Mishra, Vipin Sharma, Sushant Singh, Jamie Lever, Smita Jaykar, Supriya Shukla and late Asrani. Written and directed by Anukalp Goswami, it tells the story of a man who dreams of marrying his girlfriend. But he ends up marrying three women three times, while his girlfriend disappears.
