Saudi Arabia wins final World Cup qualifier

Saudi Arabia held on to beat Indonesia 3-2 in their opening match of the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Six Asian teams have already qualified for next year’s finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with two more places up for grabs this month.
Two groups of three teams compete in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with the two group winners advancing to the final.
Indonesia, coached by Barcelona legend Patrick Kluivert, took the lead in Jeddah thanks to a Kevin Diks penalty.
Saudi Arabia equalized through Saleh Abu Al Shamat and Feras Albrikan made no mistake with his own penalty. Albrikan got a second goal and while Diks’ second shot on goal gave Indonesia hope, the hosts secured a vital victory.
In Qatar, the hosts drew 0-0 against Oman to exit their tight group.
