Karachi: Pakistani Roupie closed above compared to the dollar on the interbank market on Thursday.
The roupine ended at 282.17 for a dollar, compared to the fence on Wednesday of 282.22. On the free market, the rupee dropped slightly, trading at 284.4 against the dollar, against 284.38 in the previous session.
The concessionaires said that the local currency had gained ground as a sale in dollars by exporters and that the shipments of funds have exceeded the demand for the American currency by importers. “Roupie, rather than winning with only two days remaining before Eidul Azha, when funds from expatriate Pakistanis generally increase, generally increases the downward pressure caused by payment obligations,” said a money trafficker.
