Ruben Dominguez scored a career-high 30 points, all on 3-pointers, to lead a balanced offensive attack as Texas A&M built a huge halftime lead and beat Manhattan 109-68 on Friday in College Station, Texas.

The Aggies (4-2) were able to overcome a one-point deficit eight minutes into the game to build a 30-point lead at the end of the first half.

Once A&M expanded its lead to 71-36 on a Jamie Vinson three-point play four minutes into the second half, it was simply a matter of how big the Aggies’ final margin of victory would be, how many players would reach double figures and at what time they would empty their bench.

The 109 points mark the second time this year the Aggies have scored 100 or more points and is the most for Texas A&M since 2017.

Dominguez’s 10 3-pointers (on 14 attempts) are the most made by a player in Texas A&M history. Marcus Hill added 19 points for the Aggies, while Rylan Griffen had 17, Jacari Lane scored 12 points and Rashaun Agee had a game-high 10 rebounds in the win.

Terrance Jones led Manhattan with 13 points. Marko Ljubicic added 11 and Anthony Isaac added 10 for the Jaspers (3-3).

The Aggies jumped out to an early lead, taking an 11-5 lead on a 3-pointer from Dominguez at 15:52 of the first half. Manhattan raced back, using a 10-3 run capped by Vinson’s alley-oop dunk to take a 15-14 lead with 12:16 left in the half.

A&M responded with an 11-2 run, moving back into the lead by eight points after Griffen made a free throw with 8:42 left before halftime. The Aggies widened the margin to 14 points when Rashaun Agee grabbed a rebound and drove the length of the court for a layup, then to 40-21 after Jamie Vinson hit a jumper in the lane with 4:01 left.

A&M increased its lead to 30 points before settling for a 55-27 advantage at the break.

Dominguez led A&M with 12 points before halftime, while Hill added 11 and Griffen scored 10. The Aggies outshot Manhattan 60% to 32.3% in the first half while hitting 10 of their 19 3-point attempts and outscoring the visitors 22-10 in the paint.

Jaden Winston’s seven points paced the Jaspers in the first half.
