Ruben Amorim: The jokes of Man Utd Boss, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, offered him a new contract in “normal” talks with the co -owner | Football news

The boss of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, played the meaning of a meeting with the co -owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe on the club’s training ground this week, insisting that their discussions were “normal”.
Ratcliffe was in Carrington to meet the under-press coach before Sunday’s match against Chelsea, live Sky SportsAmorim joking that he was there to offer him a new agreement.
“New contract, he offered me a new contract,” said Amorim during his press conference when he asked the visit to Ratcliffe.
“No, these are normal things, just to show support, explaining that it is a long project. He said on several occasions:” It’s my third season. “For me, this is not the case.
“I spoke with him, with [CEO] Omar [Berrrada]with [director of football] Jason [Wilcox]Just trying to see all the data around the team.
“So, a normal meeting, and we have had several, but right now, it is normal for people to pay attention to this.”
Amorim is under pressure after winning only one of the first four games of the Manchester United season and was also eliminated from the Carabao cup in the second round by Grimsby Town.
“It’s football and it’s the club with more pressure, perhaps, than anyone in the world, but we want to win.”
The 3-0 defeat of last weekend against his rivals of Manchester City left 14th row of Amorim in the Premier League table, only one place above the finishing position of the last season’s club-Record.
The 40 -year -old insists that he sees the improvement of their performance but admits that they must improve at both ends of the field.
“Last year, I was very critical of how we played,” added Amorim. “I think we play well until the boxes, defending and attacking.
“We must be more aggressive in the boxes. We must be more clinical. The rest, I think we are improving in relation to last year. We are in a better place.
“But we have to win. We lost against Arsenal and Man City. Here, losing, especially at the start after last season, is a problem.”
Amorim had a free week with his players to prepare for the Sunday match against Chelsea in Old Trafford on the training ground and said they have concentrated their efforts to be more effective in the boxes.
“We used the time to analyze the last game and the next match, and to prepare different things,” he said. “We play well until we reach the boxes.
“We must be more clinical. The number of shots and the XG are good, but if you do not mark, it does not matter.
“The way we have undergone the goals, we can avoid this. We are naive, we must be more aggressive to win matches.
“We have to maintain the way we play and improve in our box and the opposition box – it was the goal of the week. Especially against Chelsea, when they meet, they are the side with the most players in the box.”
The boss of Manchester United confirmed that he could call on Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount against Chelsea, but Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot are not available.
