Ruben Amorim says that Manchester United “will get many victories” despite a dementable record

Ruben Amorim remains confident Manchester United “will get many victories” after being held in a 1-1 draw in Fulham this afternoon.
United went ahead when a corner of Bryan Mbeumo stolen at the back of the Fulham striker, Rodrigo Muniz, but Emile Smith Rowe came out of the bench to claim a deserved part of the loot for the hosts.
Amorim only chaired seven victories of his 29 championship games in charge of United – his percentage of victory 24.1 is the same as that of Neil Warnock – and has not yet left the brand this season after the home defeat 1-0 last weekend against Arsenal.
His team again showed flashes that they are on the right track and Amorim was in a bullish mood after the match in Craven Cottage.
He told Sky Sports: “We just want to win games. Players know they are playing in a club where they have to be better. Today, they worked very hard and all week in training. I am really convinced that we are going to get many victories.”
The boss of Manchester United Amorim admits “we can do better”
Amorim was satisfied with the efforts of his team but conceded that there was still room for improving the execution.
“We can do better, but we make the effort, which is most important to me,” he added. “In certain times, we did well, especially at the start of the match. After the goal, we just think of the result. We were going to the point and we were not intelligent at that time.
“We have to think about the performance. I know what is the feeling of a player who must win each match. We missed a penalty, we missed a few chances and then we have to defend this goal. We have to focus on our movements and play until the end.”
United was the best side in the first half, but saw Captain Bruno Fernandes excite a penalty on the bar. They finally took the lead 13 minutes after the break, but Amorim was disappointed with the way they played with the advantage.
“I think we scored the goal, then we forgot how we play,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live. “We want to win so much, and it’s a good feeling, that we scored a goal and everyone on the field thought:” Let’s try the advantage and try to win the game “. For me, this is the moment when we have to enjoy it more and push the opponent. We tried to press the super high opponent and to have left a lot of space.
“We have to grow a lot in a team. For me, the most important thing is that during the week, they worked very hard today, we worked very hard and we will improve. The moment that changed the game was our goal. ”
Manchester United Captain Fernandes with a Kavanagh reference
Fernandes cut a frustrated figure after the match and revealed his anger against a minor bringing together with referee Chris Kavanagh who forced him to repeat his routine before missing the penalty.
“I was upset.” Said Portugal midfielder. “As penalty lessee, you have your own routines, your own things you do.
“It upset me because the referee did not apologize. This is what triggered me at that time, but it is not the excuse to miss the penalty.
“I had a very bad blow on the ball. I also put my foot under the ball and that is why it ended up going above the bar. ”
Amorim was quick to defend his compatriot. “He wants to win so much,” he said about the former man of the sports CP. “He is our chef and he has so much responsibility. I felt that he had missed the penalty and he thought about it during the match. We have to go ahead and play the game.”
