Roundup of the Women’s Top 25: Washington, number 22, crushes Southern

Sophomore Avery Howell tied her career high with 18 points while leading No. 22 Washington to a 66-40 victory over Southern on Tuesday in Seattle.
Brynn McGaughy scored 14 points and blocked three shots for the Huskies (6-0). Washington maintained its unbeaten record despite 22 turnovers.
DeMya Porter was the only player to score in double figures for the Panthers (1-5), scoring 16 points. She also pulled down nine rebounds, including eight on the offensive end.
A Howell three-point play sparked a 10-0 Washington run in the first quarter, giving the hosts a 16-4 lead. The gap hovered between 10 and 15 until the Huskies scored 13 unanswered points in the third quarter for a 53-24 advantage.

Freshman Jazzy Davidson had 20 points and a career-high 16 rebounds as the Trojans demolished the Golden Eagles in Los Angeles.
Londynn Jones added 20 points and Vivian Iwuchukwu scored 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting for Southern California (4-2). The Trojans blocked 15 shots, including four from Laura Williams.
Chloe Larry and Cam Mathews scored 12 points each for Tennessee Tech (4-2), but the Golden Eagles made just 21.5 percent of their field goal attempts.
