Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli’s rift with Gautam Gambhir force ‘angry’ BCCI to call emergency meeting

According to the latest reports, no review of the Indian Test team’s performance is to be done as they are taking a break from red-ball cricket and focusing entirely on limited-overs cricket.
However, it has been revealed that the BCCI is considering intervening in the rising tensions between head coach Gautam Gambhir and the two veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The Indian team has struggled to maintain its high standards under Gautam Gambhir, with the former KKR mentor succeeding only in the shortest format of the game and failing to produce satisfactory results in the other two formats.

BCCI to hold review meeting after tiff within ODI team
After the extremely poor performance of the Indian Test team and the whitewash in the second series at home, a review meeting was to be held by the BCCI. Also, they should have addressed the coaching issues after Gautam Gambhir was mistreated over time.
However, the latest reports from Dainik Jagran journalist Abhishek Tripathi revealed that no review meeting would take place for the Indian Test team’s performance, and even if it were to take place, it would be only after the ODI and T20I series against South Africa.
However, he also revealed that the BCCI is more concerned about the internal atmosphere within the ODI team and has planned a review meeting to resolve the underlying issues. It has been noted that the environment in the Test and T20I dressing rooms is excellent, but that of the ODI team has reportedly been poor.
BCCI review meeting to be held in Raipur or Vishakhapatnam
Although the Indian team management and also batting coach Sitanshu Kotak have not accepted such claims, the growing tensions within the team seem very evident.
Sitanshu Kotak had said in the press conference after the first ODI in Ranchi that no such review meeting had been planned and wondered, “What is the need for a review meeting?”
However, a BCCI source from Dainik Jagran had revealed that the relationship between head coach Gautam Gambhir and senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma is not as good as it should be, and this can be a concern in the long run.
The same source had confirmed that a review meeting could take place soon, and the meeting could possibly be held in Raipur or Vishakhapatnam, the next two venues for India’s matches. It was also revealed that the BCCI was angry with Kohli and Rohit Sharma fans for targeting Gautam Gambhir.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli put in an ageless performance since their return
