The future of Rohit Sharma as a test captain of Team India is in doubt, according to reports. With just over a month before the long -awaited five -game test series between India and England begins, the selectors and the team management would be ready to take a big call.
Rohit Sharma’s place in the test team was questioned by a lot after its dark performance with the bat last season. Under its captain, India underwent a humiliating 3-0 whitening at home against New Zealand. This was the first defeat of the India test series at home since 2012-13.

According to a report by the Times of India, the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar has already started to discuss the captain for the next series against England. The team should be announced soon, and the selectors are currently busy deliberating on the question of the captain.
The report also said that an eminent member of the Indian team had already expressed his desire to direct the test side. The BCCI, however, did not accept the player’s proposal and clearly indicated that he wanted to prepare a young player for the future.
Shubman Gill Foundéle to replace Rohit
The media said Shubman Gill was the favorite to be included in the leadership group for tests in England.
“A new WTC cycle begins. The future and continuity must be kept in mind with regard to the team. Even the coach Gautam Gambir would like a set of players with whom he is likely to work for an extended period.”
“There cannot be any solutions to take away for such a important series. The last two series of tests have not been ideal for the team, and the England series is very crucial,” a source told the press.
