Rinku Singh once again proved why his name is talked about everywhere in Indian cricket. After getting a late call-up to the Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Rinku Singh has carried that confidence straight into domestic cricket and played a superb innings for Uttar Pradesh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
The left-hander returned to his dangerous form with the bat during Uttar Pradesh’s 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy clash against Chandigarh in Rajkot on Friday (December 26). Rinku went on a rampage, bringing up his century in just 56 balls and justifying his selection for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

The Uttar Pradesh captain led his team from the front as he remained unbeaten on 106* off 60 deliveries, completely taking the match away from the Chandigarh team. It was Rinku’s second List A century.

Match summary: Rinku Singh ignites UP’s Mammoth 367/4
Uttar Pradesh found itself in trouble after the cheap dismissal of Abhishek Goswami. From there, Aryan Juyal and Dhruv Jurel took control and stabilized the innings with a well-planned 96-run partnership for the second wicket against Chandigarh.
Juyal played a brilliant knock of 134 runs from 118 balls, studded with seven boundaries and eight sixes, while star keeper-batsman Jurel contributed 67 runs from 57 balls, laced with 11 boundaries, in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy in Rajkot.

After Jurel’s dismissal, Juyal continued to anchor the innings and made 71 runs for the third wicket with Sameer Rizvi (32). Rizvi’s wicket proved to be a major game-changer for UP as Rinku came in at number five and immediately changed the tempo.
The UP skipper’s aggressive approach added pace to the innings by establishing two crucial partnerships, first with Juyal and then with Prashant Veer, who scored a quick 63 off 35 balls.
Rinku put together an incredible 134-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Juyal and then a quick 63 from 35 balls with Prashant Veer (12*) to propel Uttar Pradesh to an impressive total of 367/4 on the board in 50 overs against Chandigarh at Rajkot.
Rinku Singh’s red-hot form remains on top of Vijay Hazare Trophy
For Chandigarh, Taranpreet Singh was the standout bowler, finishing with 2/74 in his 10 overs, while Nisunk Birla and Sandeep Sharma scalped a wicket each against UP in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 clash.

Currently, UP are leading the Elite B group table with four points, having defeated the Hyderabad team in their first match of the tournament by 84 points on December 24. Even in this match, Rinku smashed a brilliant 67 runs off 48 balls to play a key role in his team’s dominant victory.
He is currently among the top run scorers in India’s premier 50 over tournament. On the other hand, Chandigarh is struggling in the ongoing white ball tournament. They are about to lose their second game in a row.
