Rian Johnson would be the happiest person if he could go back to “Star Wars”

Many things have changed in the world of Star Wars In recent years, but one thing has been coherent exasperating: person involved in the future of Star Wars said Rian Johnson.
Johnson, writer and director of Star Wars: The Last Jedionce had to write and make a new complete trilogy of films. But when The last Jedi was met with such polarizing response, these projects were moved to the background. Johnson continued to do KnivesA huge original successful film, and has since worked almost exclusively in the Murder Mystery genre. His third Knives movie, Wake upwill be released later this year, and the second season of Impassive face We Peacock is broadcast now.
So it’s not like Rian Johnson needed Star Wars but Star Wars might need Rian Johnson. While the franchise continues to wade, especially on the big screen – with several films announced, delayed, moved, put aside and more – the fans always rethink the idea that Johnson returns to Star Wars. And, in a new interview, he admits that he does the same thing.
“I sort of descended into the mystery rabbit hole of the murder – I focused on making other things,” Johnson told The Independent when he was questioned about his distance from Star Wars. “But that didn’t exclude that it happens all over the line. If I come back to the Star Wars Universe one day, I would be the happiest person.
We too, Rian. We would also do it.
Unfortunately, now almost 10 years after the original announcement, a Johnson trilogy probably does not correspond to the current plans. There are two, for sure, Star Wars Films to come in the next two years –The Mandalorian and the Grogu a year from today, May 22, 2026, then Star Wars: Starfighter A year later on May 28, 2027. Beyond that, Simon Kinberg will work on the next official Star Wars Trilogy alongside films by James Mangold, Dave Filoni and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. So even if Johnson finishes Knives And Impassive face, We sincerely doubt that he will be back in a galaxy far, far from soon. But we hope it will happen one day.
