RHOP Star Wendy Osefo Fired From Wesleyan University After Arrest For Insurance Fraud
The Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo was fired from Wesleyan University following his arrest on several fraud charges.

“Wendy Osefo is no longer an employee of Wesleyan University,“, the school confirmed in a statement Tuesday, October 14, adding that she “resigned from her position.” The 41-year-old reality TV star joined the university in fall 2024, where she taught a course on reality TV and social issues.
The announcement comes just days after Wendy and her husband, Eddie Osefowere arrested and charged with insurance fraud in Westminster, Maryland. Court documents show a grand jury indicted Wendy on seven counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and one count of making a false report to police.

The couple, who were released on $50,000 bail each, are accused of staging a fake burglary at their Maryland home in April 2024 to collect nearly $450,000 in fraudulent insurance claims. Investigators say Osefos claimed luxury handbags and jewelry were stolen while on vacation in Jamaica – but many of these “stolen” items were later found at their homes or had been returned for reimbursement before the alleged break-in.
Police also cited social media posts showing Wendy wearing a diamond anniversary ring she reported stolen, while emails between the couple allegedly revealed Eddie ask Wendy whether there were “additional high-value items” to add to their insurance list to reach their policy maximum.

Following their arrests, the couple’s spokesperson told E News, “Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from their friends, fans and colleagues.”
Wendy’s exit from Wesleyan comes after previously teaching Johns Hopkins Universitywhere she was an assistant professor of education. She graduated from Temple University, Johns Hopkinsand a doctorate in public affairs and community development Rutgers.

Well done has yet to comment on how the legal scandal or Wendy’s resignation will affect his role on The Real Housewives of Potomac. However, Well done I shot Wendy Osefo episode of Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition and pushed back the premiere date of its initial release following his arrest.
