Reports: Bengals, Recruit by Shemar Stewart Reach Contract Agreement

The choice of the recovery of the Bengals of Cincinnati, Shemar Stewart, on the left, and the head coach Zac Taylor, on the right, appear together before a press conference, on Friday April 25, 2025, at the Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati.

The Bengals of Cincinnati and the Recruit Shemar Stewart defensive agreed with a contract of $ 18.97 million entirely guaranteed on Friday by four years.

Stewart, drafted 17th in total of Texas A&M, was the last selection of the first round which remained not signed. Most of the first round choices signed their recruit contracts in May or June, but Stewart and Bengals had to face a dead end of a contractual language which could cancel its future guaranteed money.

According to Pro Football Talk, the 21 -year -old accepted the language in exchange for an increase of $ 500,000 to his signature bonus, which is now at $ 10.4 million.

The signing ends a saga that included rumors about Stewart’s return to university and a holdout that Bengal President Mike Brown judged “madness”.

Cleveland Browns, the second round, the Ballon Ball Bearer Judkins is now the only recruit to still sign his recruit.

Stewart enters his first year with high expectations, given the productivity of the Bengals offensive and the disappointment of their defense last season. Cincinnati collected an average of 27.8 points per match, sixth for the League, but granted 25.5 points per competition, eighth worse.

They won their last five games but finished 9-8 and failed the playoffs. In addition, one of the key parts in their defense remains unclear.

Cincinnati contractual negotiations with the defensive colleague Trey Hendrickson, the bag of bags last year at 17.5, are stopped. Bengals have already invested massively in the wide receptors Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins this off -season, tightening their remaining cap space.
