Real reason why WWE suspended Drew McIntyre from SmackDown

Drew McIntyre didn’t get the Friday night he was hoping for, as Nick Aldis suspended the former WWE Champion from SmackDown. A recent report revealed the reason.
McIntyre has been at odds with WWE officials in recent weeks. The Scottish Warrior was unhappy with the way his match against Cody Rhodes on Saturday Night’s Main Event was officiated. He took his anger out on referee Dan Engler on SmackDown as he exposed him with a Claymore during Cody’s match against Aleister Black. Drew was subsequently suspended indefinitely by Nick Aldis.
Dave Meltzer said on the Wrestling Observer Radio that Drew McIntyre was written off WWE television because he was going to make a movie. So, the Scottish Warrior was suspended from Kayfabe to give him the necessary time off. It’s still unclear when he’ll return, but we can expect him to continue his feud with The American Nightmare when he returns.
Former WWE star proposed reunion with Drew McIntyre
While Drew McIntyre works as a lone wolf these days, the Scottish Warrior was part of the 3MB stable during his first stint with the company, which also included Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. Recently, his former stablemate, Jinder, proposed a reunion of the three:
“I think now enough time has passed and people are nostalgic. They’re kind of missing 3MB, and they remember the good times, but back then we didn’t have a lot of support, not like now. But I think the band needs to get back together. Maybe have some kind of reunion tour,” Mahal said. (H/T: WrestlingPurists)
Drew McIntyre was not a big name in the company during his time at 3MB. He left the global giant in 2014 to make a name for himself. The Scottish Warrior returned three years later as a much bigger star and is now one of the Stamford-based promotion’s top stars.
Meanwhile, Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater are no longer with WWE. The duo reunited with McIntyre earlier this year at Mahal’s wedding.
