Ravindra Jadeja joins Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma; confirms participation in Vijay Hazare Trophy

A Saurashtra Cricket Association official confirmed that Jadeja will play two matches for Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy – on January 6 and 8.
India cricket team star Ravindra Jadeja has confirmed that he will participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The domestic 50-over tournament will begin from December 24 onwards and will see the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant among others in action. Jadeja, who was reincluded in the ODI side for the series against SA after being left out of the tour to Australia, will be hoping to put up impressive performances and cement his spot in the squad for the upcoming IND vs NZ series.
Jadeja to play VHT 2025/26
As per Times of India, a Saurashtra Cricket Association official confirmed that Jadeja will play two games for Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy – January 6 and 8. Both matches will be played in Karnataka’s Alur. The report adds that Saurashtra’s squad could be modified if Jadeja is selected for the IND vs NZ ODI series.
“Yes, he has confirmed to play these two games on January 6 and January 8. This is the plan for now,” a senior SCA official told the publication.
Jadeja has featured in 260 List A games so far and has amassed 3911 runs and has bagged 293 wickets. His average with the bat and ball are 32.86 and 34.22 respectively. Jadeja will be in action against Services and Gujarat in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26.
Jadeja’s participation in VHT is a part of his efforts to stay in contention for a spot in the Indian squad for the 2027 World Cup.
“He is very much in the plans. But there will be some competition for places. Of course, he was there in the Champions Trophy squad, because we took those extra spinners with the conditions there. At the moment, we could only carry one and get some balance in the team with Washi and Kuldeep there as well. And I don’t think we are going to need more than that in Australia,” Agarkar had said after Jadeja’s snub in the IND vs AUS series.
