Rangers, Ducks finish trade after Chris Kreider does not give up a business

Chris Kreider agreed to give up his non-exchange clause, sending the longest member of New York Rangers to the Ducks Anaheim on Thursday.
Kreider, who first adapted the rangers during the NHL 2012 qualifiers, gave his OK to the agreement on Thursday morning, said the New York Post. The Ducks were on the list without a team of 15 teams from the attacker.
The Rangers will receive the Carey Terrance striker and a choice of recovery in 2025 in the Ducks to Kreider and a choice of fourth round. Anaheim will also face all the kreider $ 6.5 million hit in each of the next two seasons.
Kreider, 34, entered the sixth season of a $ 45.5 million contract over seven years. The Massachusetts native should become a free agent without restriction on July 1, 2027.
“We would like to thank Chris Kreider for all his contributions to the organization of the Rangers during his stellar career,” said Managing Director Chris Drury. “Chris was an integral part of some of the most emblematic moments in the history of the Rangers, including by establishing several franchise records and helping the team to go to the 2014 Stanley Cup final. His leadership on ice and tireless efforts in the community – that he was recognized for the inaugural recipient of the inheritance Rod Gilbert.”
Kreider, then Captain of Rangers, Jacob Trouba, was made available on the commercial market earlier this season following a note from the Drury League. The Ducks then acquired Trouba on December 6 for defender Urho Vaakanainen and a choice of fourth round at the NHL recovery in 2025.
Kreider only recorded 30 points (22 goals, eight assists) in 68 games this season while treating back spasms and illness.
Earlier, he discussed his desire to stay in New York.
“I mean, it’s home for me,” said Kreider at the end of April, according to the New York Post. “It was the organization that gave me the opportunity to live my dream. I developed so many incredible relationships and I grew up and spent so much time in this area. So, obviously, that’s where I want to be and it is the group I want to help in a way and win hockey games.”
The third top scorer of all time in the franchise (326), Kreider also has 256 assists for 582 points in 883 career games since the Rangers selected it with the 19th choice in total to the REDLY LNG 2009.
Terrance, 20, was selected by the Ducks in the second round of the NHL 2023 recovery. He recorded 39 points (20 goals, 19 assists) in 45 games last season with the Otters Erie of the Ontario Hockey League. In 230 games in four seasons with ERIE, at 162 points (89 goals and 73 assists).
