Rangers could land Ryan Kent 2.0 with Ibrox Move for an “incredible” star

The loan player. Glasgow Rangers have had a lot over the years. From good to slightly ugly, Ibrox has seen them all.

With the status of Scottish football throughout the 21st century, Rangers or Celtic can no longer attract the best of the best. This means bringing better quality players to a loan agreement, where they can present their talents before returning to their parent club.

Some have produced moments of magic that will remember forever among fans. Who can forget the astonishing effort of Gregory Vignal against Celtic in 2005? Or the rapid assistance of Vladimir Weiss against Celtic in the 2011 League Cup final?

More recently, Malick Tillman, Abdallah Sima and Vaclav Cerny all kissed Life in Glasgow, who shines for the Ibrox side during their temporary spells at the club.

A name is however above the rest, especially in terms of impact he had on the club and what happened next.

Ryan Kent did not take long to become a cult hero in Ibrox during the 2018/19 season, and Steven Gerrard saw his potential, signing him permanently in the summer of 2019.

How good was it during his first season at the club?

Remember Ryan Kent’s wonderful loan from Ryan Kent

When Gerrard arrived in May 2018 to take over the reins of the Gers, it has become clear that he would use his influence to bring a crowd of players to Ibrox from all over Europe.

Its Liverpool connections would also be useful. Jon Flanagan moved to Glasgow, just like Ovie Ejaria on a loan agreement.

Kent was certainly the most interesting talent of all the loan signatures that summer, and he continued to shine for the Gers.

Throughout the whole campaign, he scored six goals and managed nine assists for the Rangers, despite several games due to an injury to the hamstrings.

The winger helped the winner of Ryan Jack against Celtic in December 2018, the first time that the Rangers had defeated their former league rivals for eight years.

A few months later, he scored a sublime solo goal against the same opposition while hitting Captain Celtic Scott Brown.

These two exploits also addressed it to the faithful of Ibrox, and when the campaign was over, it became a case when, rather than if Kent would sign permanently.

Gerrard kept the fans on their guard, with the announcement on the deadline, but the club finally had their man. Transfer fees of 7 million pounds sterling have been spent in the process, the highest costs that the club had spent in years.

It was his initial loan fate that paved the way in Kent to take advantage of a lot of success at the Rangers when he joined permanently.

Could Russell Martin may reproduce this feat by signing a player loaned by the Premier League before next season?

Rangers’ ocular loans move to the Premier League player

While Martin will not want to rely too much on loan players in the next quarter, bringing some stars of the upper class will only benefit to the team.

Indeed, Nasser Djiga moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season. Like Max Aarons. These two signatures have already appeared in the Premier League and should prove to be excellent additions to the Martin team.

He doesn’t stop there. According to recent reports, the manager wishes to sign Brighton and Hove Albion, goalkeeper Carl Rushworth for a temporary agreement in the coming weeks.

Rushworth played under Martin at Swansea City; Therefore, he knows his expectations and his style of play, which could prove to be crucial.

The side of the southern coast would have overturned a loan offer from a championship club, and Martin will have to act quickly to conclude an agreement.

Carl Rushworth

This could be an interesting signature for sure, but would Rushworth guaranteed the football from the first team to Ibrox next season?

Why the Rangers must sign Carl Rushworth

Martin has a specific style of play which focuses on the construction of the defense attack.

Having a goalkeeper who is excellent in distribution would help this philosophy, and Rushworth could be an ideal signature in this regard.

Scout Kai Watson even said that “distribution seems to be its greatest force which is the key to the Russell Martin system” when the player profile in the middle of his ties with the Rangers.

The data on which it was based came from the 2023/24 season, where he shone for Swansea City.

Indeed, during this campaign, he played the 46 championship games for the Welsh team, conceding 1.4 goals per game and saving 69% of the shots he faced.

By passing through, Rushworth succeeded with 89% of the passes inside his own half, while he also recovered 9.5 balls per game, suggesting that he acted quickly to bring loose balls together before making specific passes to start an attack.

Rushworth also succeeded with 100% of its dribbles and won 85% of its total duels disputed for Swans this season.

He was also nicknamed “incredible” by his former manager in Swansea, Luke Williams, and there is no doubt that Rushworth would make an exciting signature before the Champions League qualifications in a few weeks.

Many will depend on the regular game guarantee at the Rangers throughout 2025/26. Considering that Jack Butland and Liam Kelly have failed to really impress the mandate, bringing a new goalkeeper is certainly not a bad idea of Martin.

But Des-Rangers-Europa-Ligue

A loan agreement – as in the case of Kent – would work well for all parties involved, and I hope that Martin will insert an option to buy a clause in any proposed transaction.

The 39 -year -old man works tirelessly to add an essential quality to the team. Rushworth would certainly be one of the last pieces in the jigsaw, that’s for sure.
