Rachel Reilly and other Big Brother alumni react to Mickey Lee’s death

THE Big brother the community came together to mourn the season 27 alum’s untimely death Mickey Lee.

Mickey’s family confirmed that she died on Thursday, December 25, after being hospitalized due to multiple cardiac arrests due to complications from the flu. Mickey was 35 years old.

“The Big Brother family is heartbroken today. Mickey was a standout on the show and in life. A force of nature. A bright light and someone we are lucky to have had in our lives. Our thoughts are with his family on this sad day.” Big brother executive producers Allison Grodner, Rich Meehan And Chris Roach said in a statement on Friday, December 26.

Same day Mickey season 27 co-star and season 13 winner Rachel Reilly paid tribute to him on social networks.

“We are in shock and so saddened by the news about my big brother, castmate and family member. My heart is broken,” she wrote via X on Friday. “My heart goes out to his family and lifelong friends. Big brother doesn’t just give you cast mates, it gives you a family. I am forever grateful to have been able to share this house and this experience with Mickey 💕.

Rachel continued: “We entered the Big brother from home as strangers and came out bonded for life. I wish I could still thank her for the memories, the laughs and the moments that only we will ever understand. I will always carry a little bit of Mickey with me. Rest in peace, my friend. 🤍.

Big brother host Julie Chen Moonves also shared her condolences, revealing that she recently spoke to Mickey.

“Two months ago I interviewed Mickey Lee on ‘God 101/’. That’s when she revealed to me that she was born with a hole in her heart and as an adult she survived an ATV accident that should have killed her, but God kept her alive,” Julie wrote via Instagram on Friday. “Last night God brought her home 🕊️ Rest in peace dear Mickey. I will see you on the other side in eternity.”

Mickey season 27 co-star Jimmy Hagerty paid tribute to the commissioner of the event.

“I’m leaving soon, my heart is absolutely broken…Rest in power Mickey, I love you forever ❤️,” he wrote via X.

In a later tweet, Jimmy shared a selfie of him and Mickey captioning the snap, “Forever girl🫶🏼.”

Season 27 winner Ashley Hollis, who had her ups and downs with Mickey on and off the show, shared a tribute following his death.

“I didn’t know it was this bad, I guess I was naive. For a seemingly healthy 35 year old woman, life isn’t fair,” she wrote via X.

In a later post, Ashley revealed that she and Mickey were trying to resolve their issues before his passing.

“I posted this because you keep criticizing me saying I never liked Mickey but that’s a lie,” she tweeted. “I had nothing to gain by contacting her a few weeks ago, but peace of mind and the hope of being reborn. I can’t believe Mickey is really gone.”
