Electronic Arts becomes private in the largest lever redemption offer in the history of the game

Video game manufacturer Electronic Arts – known for Sims, Madden NFL, Plants VS Zombies and more – is becoming private in an agreement estimated at around 55 billion dollars.

The public investment fund of Saudi Arabia, the investment company Silver Lake and the Affinité partners of Jared Kushner will acquire EA in the context of the all-space agreement which marks the greatest lever buy in history.

The EA shareholders will receive $ 210 per cash share.

The Wall Street Journal first said that the company was approaching an agreement on Friday.

The agreement to take EA private marks a new consolidation within the industry, after titans such as Activision Blizzard and Zynga have been plunged by even larger companies, further reducing the number of listed video game companies.

EA has its headquarters in Redwood City, California. The company was founded in 1982.
