The Conjuring: Last Rites Box Office proves what we all know that studios still don’t do it

The Conjuring: Last Rites Erased the box office with a weekend of $ 83 million that faded even the highest projections of the water. Sold as a final release for Ed and Lorraine Warren, the last chapter offered for the DEMONBUSTING duo does gangbuster business for a horror version, and it occurs in this way both at the national and international level. Thank you to a solid marketing campaign that pushed the “Last time to see them!” Angle, the horror film is hailed as a Savior for the 2025 box office.
So here I sit in my little internet corner. The guy who always talks about how horror is the most reliable and most desired genre for moviegoers. And here The Conjuring: Last Rites To not only prove myself to the box office again, but to do it so explosive that I have to climb on my soap box and again remove the old sermon: horror films are the best films and can save the cinema.
Horror movies are the best films

Regardless of the lack of respect or the dismissal that the kind of horror obtains, it always ends up being the genre that works most consistent with the public. Think about it: Have you ever heard someone talk about “horror fatigue” when it comes to films? No! Because the public will always want horror. It is the most cathartic of genres thanks to its potential to approach the darkest corners of our souls. Humans will always be attracted to tales that will allow us to touch the shadows with confidence that they will not touch us.
In other words, no other genre has the power that horror lies on the human psyche. Just look how much The Conjuring: Last Rites The box office proves it. This is the kind of response to which nobody expected and it proves why studios must finally withdraw their collective heads from their collective donkeys and realize that it is not blockbusters of massive lines that will save cinemas, they are horror films.
Horror films can save cinema

Look The Conjuring: Last Rites box office alongside two other successes this year, Sinners And Weapons. It is clear as the day the public is in mood for horror films that feel big. Instead, the studios burn money to restart a flaccid IP from the 1980s, they should put this money in better funded horror images. Viewers are not only ready for gender, they actively beg it with their wallets.
I could enter one of the reasons why the horror is so hot in 2025, but I am sure that it would mean that the high sheriffs would be hogtie and would gag me. Regardless of something more topical, horror is also a genre that people want to live in a movie theater with others. They want to be afraid as a collective experience. This is part of Catharsis: knowing others is as afraid as you. You are not alone in the dark. This feeling is something that people have to feel right now, and the safest way to experience that is seated in a dark room with strangers and being afraid by a light show on the wall of the cave.
Horror is there to stay and it could be big business and repeat if the studios were starting to give her the attention, the money and the distinctions she deserves.
