Paul Mescal reveals that THIS film made him cry the most

Paul Mescal recently spoke about a film that made him cry.

The Irish actor shares his thoughts on Hamnet, telling Variety: “I want to be clear that the first hour of this movie is about two people falling in love and raising a family together.”

“Maybe the reason people are crying is because the film succeeds in making them feel that these two people are really in love,” says the 29-year-old.

Therefore, the Aftersun actor admits that this film “makes people cry” but expresses hope “that it makes people laugh and really understand the concept of what it means to really, truly love.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Paul points out that another film that made him cry the most was One Battle After Another Made Me Cry.

“I think it’s so brilliantly, brilliantly directed and so well acted,” the Gladiator II actor mentions.

Raving about Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul says he “really felt for Leo’s character. I was just watching him. I really needed him to charge his phone because I wasn’t crying about it.”

However, the actor adds: “I think it’s just a brilliantly done work of art.”

Directed by Chloe Zhao, Paul plays William Shakespeare in Hamnet, a film that explores the bard’s family life and heartbreak.

Earlier in an interview with TODAY, the actor spoke about his experience working in the film Hamnet.

“There’s a lot of love at the center of it all, which I think adds to the heartbreak,” Paul remarks.

Meanwhile, the actor is set to play left-handed guitar for his role as Paul McCartney in the upcoming biopic about the Beatles star.
