Pakistan Plays XI vs Sri Lanka – Pakistan T20I Tri Series 2025, Final:

Opening: Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub

Pakistan would like to shrug off the narrow defeat in the last match against Sri Lanka and aim to win the final against the same opposition.

For that to happen, the Pakistan openers will have to give the team a good start, which was not the case in the previous match as Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub were dismissed in the first six overs.

Both Sahibzada and Farhan have been a hit or miss when it comes to their performance, both as a partnership and as individuals, as they have enjoyed a consistent run in the team.

The captain and coach would like the openers to make a good outing with the bat and establish a platform on which the middle-order hitters can capitalize.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Babar Azam, Salman Agha (c), Usman Khan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf

Like the first matches, experienced batters like Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman failed to make any contribution, leaving the team in a tricky situation before captain Salman Ali Agha and Usman Khan formed a much-needed partnership.

The duo would like to get back on track in this crucial match and lead their team to victory.

After the lack of batters responsible for four of the top six batters, captain Salman Ali Agha began the rescue act and was joined by Usman Khan, both of whom brought some sort of respectability to the score before Usman threw away his wicket.

Agha, who shifted gears after a slow start, remained unbeaten till the end and was involved in another vital partnership with Mohammad Nawaz, who was dismissed in the penultimate over, leaving too much work for the captain.

That said, regardless of the defeat, the hosts will strive to show their full potential with the bat in the final.

Bowlers: Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmed

As for the bowling attack for this particular match, this could see the return of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, both of whom will kick off the innings for either side.

Apart from the two pacers, the Men in Green are expected to enter the match with a few spinners and a fast bowling all-rounder in the form of Faheem Ashraf.

Mohammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed will look after the spin bowling department, with Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha also contributing with an over or two if required, as they did in the last match.

However, the bowling combination could change if the management feels that dew will play its role in the game.
