Oleksandr Usyk says one man is the greatest fighter of all time

Oleksandr Usyk, who is arguably the current pound-for-pound king, has revealed who he thinks is the greatest fighter of all time.
Many believe that this particular individual is a toss-up between Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali: two of the most decorated champions to grace the sport.
And yet, when you consider his longevity, a career that includes an impressive 201 professional fights, it’s tempting to side with two-weight world champion Robinson.
The American, who enjoyed a remarkable 91-fight unbeaten streak in eight years, also faced stiffest opposition at welterweight and middleweight.
Perhaps most notably, Robinson engaged in a compelling rivalry with Jake LaMotta, another pound-for-pound legend, whom he beat five times while losing only one of their middleweight contests.
But if Robinson has cultivated a phenomenal resume, the same could also be said for Ali, who has gone up against several all-time greats in the heavyweight division.
His first chance at a world title came in 1964, when the Olympic champion from Rome pulled off a stunning upset to dethrone Sonny Liston with a superb sixth-round result.
After this, Ali would avenge his earlier losses to Joe Frazier and Ken Norton, before pulling off another major upset against George Foreman in 1974.
Considering his victories over Earnie Shavers – arguably the greatest puncher in the history of the sport – and Ron Lyle as well, it becomes increasingly difficult not to place “The Greatest” at the top of an all-time pound-for-pound list.
So perhaps it’s only natural that Usyk, the current heavyweight king, said in an interview with DAZN that Ali is his “GOAT” – the greatest of all time.
As for Usyk’s career, he will return to action in 2026 and recently revealed that he is interested in a fight with former WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
