NVIDIA and AMD would have agreed to share 15% of income for sales of AI fleas in China with the US government.
It is said that the agreement was covered in flea income such as Nvidia H20, designed for artificial intelligence applications, an American official told Reuters on Sunday.
The arrangement would have been discussed following a meeting between the CEO of Nvidia, Jensen Huang and President Trump, two days before the announcement that the Commerce Department would begin to start issuing H20 export licenses.

Exports from the chip had already been interrupted by the Trump administration due to national security problems. Although Nvidia did not directly confirm the income sharing agreement, he confirmed to Reuters in an email that he is committed to complying.
“Nvidia follows the rules that the American government has established for our participation in the global markets. Although we have not shipped H20 in China for months, we hope that the rules of export control will allow America to compete in China and in the world,” said Nvidia in an email.

The Financial Times, who reported the agreement for the first time, said he opens the door to resumption of exports, but that the Trump administration has not yet specified how income will be allocated.
Experts say that this type of financial concession as a condition for export approval is very unusual and can blur the boundaries between national security policy and economic strategy.

China remains a key market for the two flea manufacturers. NVIDIA generated about $ 17 billion in China’s income in its last financial year, representing 13% of the total sales. AMD said $ 6.2 billion in Chinese income in 2024, or 24% of its total.
If sales return to the previous levels, the US government could perceive hundreds of millions per quarter under the 15%arrangement, analysts said.
