NVIDIA AI CHIP CHALLEGER GROQ declared to approach the new fundraising to an assessment of $ 6 billion

The AI Chip Groq startup is in talks to raise a new $ 600 million to an assessment of almost $ 6 billion, the sources say to Bloomberg, although the agreement is not yet final and that the terms can change.

Groq raised $ 640 million to an assessment of $ 2.8 billion in November 2024, which made this evaluation in about nine months. Groq previously raised approximately $ 1 billion.

The new round is led by the company based in Austin Disruptive, reports Bloomberg. The November round was led by Blackrock, with the participation of Neuberger Berman, of One Ventures, Cisco, KDDI and Samsung Catalyst Fund.

Groq was founded by Jonathan Ross, who previously worked at Google by developing his tensor processing unit chip. The startup came out of stealth in 2016.

This new increase comes after GROQ announced in May an exclusive partnership with Bell Canada to fuel the great IA infrastructure project of Telco. In April, Groq joined Meta to offer an AI infrastructure to Speed Llama 4 inference. Neither disruptor nor groq immediately returned our request for comments.
