Noah Schnapp fuels ‘Byler’ theories with cryptic TikTok posts

Noah Schnapp keeps fans guessing about a possible on-screen romance in the highly anticipated final season of Stranger Things.

In a TikTok video shared on Oct. 27, the 21-year-old actor smiled as he read a comment from a fan asking if “Byler” — the fan-created name combining Will Byers and Mike Wheeler — was finally happening.

“Is Byler coming or not?” the fan wrote. The comment referenced Schnapp’s character, Will Byers, and his unspoken crush on his best friend, Mike Wheeler, played by Finn Wolfhard.

“You love saying that,” Schnapp said in the clip, which showed him shirtless and smiling from his bed. “And I never listen.” He continued, “That’s probably the most commented on comment in all my late night videos. And I still ignore it.”

Fans quickly filled the comments section with more speculation, with one writing, “You ignore it because you know it’s true,” while another added, “We need Byler.”

Earlier in the week, Schnapp already teased fans with another cryptic message: a selfie video featuring Tiffany’s song. I think we’re alone now and the caption: “This song will be in season 5…I wonder why.” He hinted even further in the caption, writing, “Y’all are on to something.” »

Theories about Will and Mike’s relationship have long circulated among Stranger Things fans, especially after the emotional scene in season 4 in which Will indirectly confesses his feelings through a conversation about Eleven.

Using a painting as a metaphor, Will tells Mike, “You lead the whole party, you inspire us… Because without heart, we’d all fall apart.” »

Schnapp previously credited Will’s role with helping him come out as gay, saying Variety“Once I fully understood that Will was gay, it was just exponential speed to accept it for myself.”

Stranger Things Season 5 will premiere in three parts on Netflix: Volume 1 on November 26, Volume 2 on Christmas, and the series finale on New Year’s Eve.
