The Triple Nikola Jokic MVP has no desire to leave the Denver Nuggets.

Jokic affirmed his commitment to the media day of the opening of the season of Denver. The Serbian Star Center was asked if he had signed a maximum extension of the offseason which could pay him nearly $ 300 million over four years.

“I don’t think about it. I think these contracts, the extensions are a reward, as something natural for sport, especially in today’s NBA, where you see the salary ceiling,” said Jokic, 30, on Monday when he excluded a seismic future.

“My plan is to be with the Nuggets forever, so it’s my answer.”

Denver drafted Jokic with the 41st choice in total in 2014. He has on average more than 24 points and 10 rebounds for five consecutive seasons and was appointed MVP of finals when the Nuggets won the 2023 championship, a franchise first.

The Nuggets came out of a third consecutive campaign of 50 victories, but were routed in match 7 of the second round by the possible champion of Oklahoma City Thunder. They remitted the Jokic support cast in summer by exchanging Michael Porter Jr. – A cornerstone of the title team 2023 – at Brooklyn Nets and separating from the aging goalkeeper Russell Westbrook, who remains uncommon.

Depth parts Deandre Jordan, Vlatko Cancar and Dario Saric no longer have Jokic surrounded in the front area.

“There is a bunch of my friends who left – DJ, Russ, Vlatko, Dario – so I need to find new friends,” joked Jokic on Monday.

The biggest addition of Denver, the power striker from Sweet-Shooting Cam Johnson, was the second Net scorer with 18.8 points per game in 2024-25. A familiar face, the versatile striker Bruce Brown, returned to the Nuggets after having bounced from Indiana to Toronto in New Orleans in the last two seasons.

They will complete the heart of Jokic, Jamal Murray, Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon, who helped Denver rank third by scoring last season while masking the team’s defensive gaps.

“Your best players must demand the daily atmosphere,” said David Adelman, who is entering his first full season as a chief coach of the Nuggets.

“They cannot enter a shell and only care about how they are going … they must maintain the team as much as I do.”
