Nikki Glaser Shares a Set of Rules for Roasting Stars at the ‘Golden Globes’

Nikki Glaser has revealed her standards as she prepares to host this year’s Golden Globes.
In a new interview with PEOPLE Magazinethe comedian shared that she will be careful not to cross the line with her jokes this time around.
She said she only targets people she genuinely respects and likes, clarifying that her jokes are meant to come from a positive place.
“I write with love and I wouldn’t make a joke about someone I don’t really like.”
Glaser went on to explain that being teased by her is actually a compliment, not an insult.
“So if I write a joke about you or if I play a joke on you, it’s because I admire you and I think you’re probably cool and you have a good sense of humor.
“I don’t make jokes about people that I don’t think are cool, and that I don’t even really want to talk to or give the time of day,” she revealed before concluding.
Earlier this week, Glaser also revealed that she was warned against making jokes at Julia Roberts’ expense in her Golden Globes monologue.
Speaking on CBS Mornings, the comedian said: “I try my monologue in Los Angeles, in the clubs here, and even any joke about Julia Roberts, they’re not there.
“You can’t make fun of America’s Sweetheart,” she explained.
She concluded by rationalizing, “So whatever I end up saying about it, it’s the finest joke that I’ve worked so hard on, because it’s very delicate.”
