Nick Kyrgios: The former Wimbledon finalist of Miss Grand Slam after another injury backhand | Tennis news

Nick Kyrgios will miss Wimbledon for a third consecutive year after another injury setback.
The Australian has not played the All England Club since he reached his only final of Simple Grand Slam in 2022, where he was beaten by Novak Djokovic.
After more than two years on the sidelines with knee and wrist problems, Kyrgios returned to the start of this season, but was forced to abandon the plans to play in double the French Open after having undergone another knee injury.
And he now revealed that he will not be able to play in his favorite game of the season, writing on Instagram: “I just wanted to give everyone a quick update – I succeeded in a small setback in my recovery and I will unfortunately not come back for the grass this year.
“I know how much you can’t wait to see me there, and I’m really sorry to disappoint. It’s just a bump on the road, and I already work hard to come back stronger than ever.
“Thank you for all your continuous support – that means everything for me. See you soon!”
The 30 -year career was endangered by a torn ligament on the wrist in 2023, which required surgery and kept it away for a year and a half.
He finally returned to action in January, but admitted after losing against Jacob Fearnley in Great Britain in the first round of the Australian Open that he could have played his last match in single in Melbourne Park.
He was in tears when more painted painted pain encouraged him to retire to Indian Wells in March, although he won his first single match since 2022 against Mackenzie McDonald in Miami later this month in what was his last tournament.
Kyrgios was still a draw in Wimbledon last year after moving into the TV expert, while he will appear at the New Wimbledon Theater on June 24 as part of the live visit to his Podcast ‘Good Disorder’.
Wimbledon begins on June 30.
