Nicholas Alexander Chavez opens up to be cut off from the recent I know what you did last summer Following, and if fans could see him again in the franchise.
The 25-year-old actor, who filmed scenes in Australia with the Co-Star Lola Tung, revealed that the decision was only part of the cinema process.
“I mean, [director] Jennifer [Kaytin Robinson] is a good friend. She is really, really cool, and you know, me and Lola have had a very good time, “said Chavez US Weekly has VarietyThe power of the young Hollywood party on August 7.
“But, like, look – it’s cinema.”
Chavez and Tung were originally announced as part of the distribution in November 2024, joining the original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., as well as new faces like Madelyn Cline and Jonah Hauer-King.
Their scenes were intended to serve as a sequence of opening the film but did not make the final cup.
For Chavez, the memories of his time in Australia prevail over any disappointment. He remembers spending days with kangaroos, taking balloon rides at sunrise on the plains and cherry picking with his girlfriend, Victoria Abbott.
“This is actually everything I remember when I think about this film,” he said, laughing.
Fans began to suspect that something was happening when Chavez and Tung were absent from promotional equipment. Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson later explained that the decision focused only on the flow of the film.
“It was only one of those situations where it had nothing to do with Lola and Nicholas-they are both so fantastic. I would really love to work with them again,” she said PEOPLE in July.
“They did a fabulous job. But in the biggest tapestry in the film, it simply did not suit.”
Although Chavez did not share details on his character, he did not exclude coming back for another episode.
“You know, ask me tomorrow, I will have a million different answers for you,” he said. “The only thing that matters at this stage of my career is to make good equipment with people I love and people I believe in and who believe in me.”
