Newcastle explores the movement for “remarkable” 50 million pounds sterling Cf

We finally seem to be at the end of the largest summer saga so far, with the pursuit of Hugo Ekitike from Newcastle United, apparently finished by Liverpool. He was confirmed by journalist Julien Laurens that the Eddie Howe team is “out of the race” to sign the French.
Although this is a hard blow for the Magpies, the attacker apparently ready to move to the Reds now, this increases the chances that Alexander Isak remained in St James’ Park this season. Fabrizio Romano reported that Newcastle “insists” that their first choice attacker was not available for sale this summer.
To help complement Isak in advance, it still seems that the northeast outfit will continue a new new number.
The new target of the Newcastle striker
Although their move to sign Ekitike this summer has failed to materialize, it always seems obvious that the Magpies wanted to sign a centers this summer. Well, if the new reports to break are true, then it is always the case.
A recent Talksport report confirms the fact that Newcastle is after another number new this summer and says they “are ready to join the race” for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa.
Howe and the superiors in St James’ Park could see an opportunity to sign Dr. Congo because he “pushes to leave” the Gtech community stadium this summer.
However, there is fierce competition for the 28 -year -old. He is sought after by former manager Thomas Frank, now in Tottenham Hotspur, with Nottingham Forest also showing great interest, and even placed an offer of 25 million pounds sterling. However, this failed Brentford’s evaluation, which is double 50 million pounds sterling.
Why Wissa would be a good signature
There are clear signs of major improvement in the Wissa game, which continues to improve better and more League football he plays. In June, journalist Zach Lowy described the striker as a “remarkable” attacker.
In 137 English high flight games for bees, he raised a total of 45 goal strikes of 45, warming 13 assists. He managed to get involved in two -digit goals in three of his four Premier League seasons, and has taken such a stage simply for the goals in the last two seasons.
The 2024/25 campaign has seen Wissa explode and have the season of her career so far. In 35 Premier League games, Brentford number 11 found the back of the net 19 times and recorded five assists. It is easy to see why they want 50 million pounds sterling for his signature this summer.
Simply from a goal point of view, the Brentford striker actually had a better campaign than Ekitike managed last season. While the Frenchman, who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, contributed eight assists in 33 Bundesliga games, he was not as clinical as Wissa.
The 23 -year -old, born in Reims, won only 15 league goals for Eintracht during the 2024/25 campaign, four less than Dr Congo striker succeeded.
In addition to that, Wissa experienced a better sequence of goals, goals in four consecutive championship games, while the best of Ekitike was three. There are certainly statistics that support the fact that Wissa is a more clinical striker than Ekitike.
Looking at the figures on Squawka, he has a better conversion rate, with 27.54% compared to the 17.24% of French, showing how his luck he held, and has more non-penalty goals per game, with 0.6 as opposed to 0.5.

Although it is a pity that the Magpies missed Ekitike’s signature, Wissa could be the perfect player to shoot with Isak.
The Swedish striker scored 23 goals in the Last League, so they need a new clinical number to match his scorer form.
Thus, Wissa could be the dream signature for the Howe team this season, to help get Newcastle to the next level and continue their elevation of the Premier League painting.
