Newcastle United defender Matt Targett was linked to a distance from the club at the end of the season, and he had an injury at the end of the season.

The 29 -year -old has had trouble for the regular match in Newcastle this season, and has been linked to the club’s distance in recent months.

However, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has now revealed that the left back had made another injury. It is unlikely to play until the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see if he can get an outing in summer.

If the injury is serious, the summer exit could be problematic. Newcastle manager said the player had a problem with the hamstrings, but that’s okay.

Howe said Via Mirror: “We lost Matt Targett this week to a problem with the hamstrings. Again, nothing serious but enough, perhaps, to finish his season.”

It will be interesting to see if Newcastle can find a club ready to sign the player in summer. The 29 -year -old is not a key player for them, and he has to move on looking for a regular playing time.

Targett previously shown its quality in the Premier League, and it remains to be seen where it is. He hopes to play regularly at this stage of his career, but he has to overcome his injury problems. He has had persistent injury problems in recent seasons.

The player has not been able to have the desired impact in Newcastle since he joined the club in 2022. He also joined his contract in the last year this summer, and it would be logical that Newcastle withdraws instead of losing it for free next year.
