‘Mormon Wives’ Star Jessi’s Husband Jordan Gives Interview About Case

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jordan, it’s getting worse broke his silence about his wife Jessi Ngatikaurait is a connection with Marciano Brunette in a tense new interview with Nick Viall.

During the Wednesday, November 26, episode of the “Viall Files” podcast, Nick, 45, sat down with Jordan, 30, to ask about Jessi’s emotional abuse allegations and their marriage in general, which was a major storyline in Season 3 of the Hulu hit.

“My plan is just to focus on my family. All these people online can tweet all day. There will be people who hate me and there will be people who hate her,” Jordan said. “There’s going to be a very broad spectrum of what people think about what they’ve seen. I think the best thing I can do about it, instead of being upset, is to remind myself that it’s in the past. What we’re doing now is what matters: turning us into each other, not pushing them away from each other.

Jordan added that it was “really eye-opening” for him to rewatch the show and see his own behavior.

As Mormon Wives viewers know, Jessi admitted to kissing Marciano, 32, after meeting him during an appearance on Villa Vanderpump in 2024. She also revealed that they had a relationship via text messages, but denied having sex with him. Jessi’s admission of her affair follows the revelation of cracks in her marriage to Jordan, with whom she shares children Jagger, 5, and Jovi, 2.

While Jordan continued to acknowledge his mistakes in his marriage to Jessi, 33, on “Viall Files,” his decision to continue bringing up Jessi’s affair with Marciano during the interview seemed to frustrate the podcast host. They ultimately didn’t get to see everyone’s point of view until the end of the podcast.

Jordan makes rare comment about his wife before Jessi

Before exchanging vows with Jessi in 2020, Jordan was married to someone else and became a young father, which he says happened due to a lack of sex education.

“I basically lost my virginity and had my daughter at 18 and basically had a forced marriage,” he explained. “Very soon after we got married, we realized she wanted to follow the whole Mormon way.”

Jordan did not have the same Mormon beliefs as his wife, which created a “feminine wound.” He denied ever insulting her, something Jessi has accused him of in her current marriage.

Jordan shared that he felt “emotionally abandoned” by Jessi after her hair business, JZ Styles, caught his attention. He had to give up his job, which previously required him to stay in California for four months a year, which made Jordan even more irritated at Jessi’s success.

“I think she’s starting to understand [how emotionally abandoned I felt before the affair]”, he added on Wednesday. “But not completely.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, he expressed frustration with how Jessi discussed her on-screen affair and continued to communicate with Marcinao during season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. He talked about a specific scene where he confronted Jessi for inviting Marcinao to dinner with the group following a lie detector test.

“What I said [on the show] It was: “What are you going to say [our kids]? That you cheated on me? And then you went to take a lie detector test with the guy you were having an affair with? he said. “At this point, I stand by that. I wish this didn’t happen. I think it was a bad choice.

Jordan continued, “Jessi wasn’t there during it. I mean, you could see it in her face. She was numb. She wasn’t even there. Nobody was home.”

Jordan doesn’t rule out a future divorce from Jessi

During her half of the interview, Jessi opened up about past attempts to file for divorce from Jordan before finally agreeing to work through their issues. Jordan, for his part, revealed that he had already told Jessi’s father that divorce would not be on the table. “I just remember one of the things I promised her was that divorce wasn’t an option for me,” he said. “I don’t want to do this without it even being an option. That’s it.”

Now, Jordan’s tone appears to be changing following his affair.

“I told Jessi that if it ever starts like that again [with our marriage]“I don’t want anything to do with this relationship either,” he noted. “For her sake, for my child’s sake, and for myself.”

Jordan and Jessi are not on the same page regarding the details of their affair

Jessi previously claimed that Jordan told her to lie and say they were separated if his affair ever came to light. Jordan initially denied his wife’s claims. “At the moment, I think that’s what she decided to say,” he told Nick.

Jessi, who was back for this segment of the podcast, continued to explain her point of view.

“I remember you saying that and I was like, ‘I think that’s what he’ll want me to say.’ Because if that were the case, I would follow the story now. I want people to know the truth,” she said.

Jordan then acknowledged how Jessi could have gotten that impression. “It’s also to protect yourself. What I’m saying is that I was spewing ideas,” he said. “At the time, I felt so betrayed that I thought, ‘Well, maybe me saying something like that will comfort her.'”

Jordan also responded to Jessi’s claims that her husband was blackmailing her over the affair.

“The reason I left was because we had been dealing with this matter for about six months behind closed doors. Nobody knew. During those six months, the situation got worse than it had ever gotten. He was blackmailing me. He was threatening to send my texts to Marciano to the whole world,” she claimed on the podcast, noting that the subject had been discussed on the show but had not been definitively changed. “Every time I did something that he didn’t agree with, he had it on his TikTok drafts and he was like, ‘I’m going to post it.’”

Jessi called things “so toxic.” She explained: “I remember the day I left him, it got to a point where he was recording me and he was taunting me and I was chasing him around the house. We were yelling at each other. It was so bad.”

Jordan admitted to some of his behavior.

“Actually, I never thought that. It was just to cry for help,” he said. “Hurt people, hurt people. I was literally trying to say, ‘Be sorry for what you did. Be sorry.’ [and] love me. I’m anxious here. Give me something.’

Where Jessi and Jordan stand with Demi

Jessi’s affair came on the heels of her co-star’s Demi Engemann being accused of dating Marciano. Demi denied the claims, but Marciano has since alleged that Demi urged him to bring up his emotional affair with Jessi to make her feel better.

»[Her behavior is]”I want to know what must have happened in her life for her to feel justified or that it was OK. Honestly, it disgusts me.

Jordan also confirmed that he is no longer close to Demi’s husband, Bret Engemannafter things got too awkward. Jessi later revealed that she hadn’t spoken to Demi outside of scenes in season 3.

“During season 3 – when everything was happening – our only conversations were filmed. There was this session we had in a restaurant. It was the first time we spoke,” she detailed. “I remember being in a pretty heated situation and she completely turned on me and said, ‘You’re victim-shaming.’ [over my claims of sexual misconduct against Marciano].’ At that point I was like, “I’m going to look horrible.” I have to give in because if people take her side or if the public believes her, I’m going to look bad.

She added: “So I just gave in. That’s why you see us leaving on pretty okay terms. Because I was like, ‘How the hell am I going to fight victim shaming?’

Marciano has denied all of Demi’s allegations of sexual misconduct.

At the end of the podcast, things took an awkward turn when Nick tried to get a broader reaction from Jordan regarding Jessi’s emotional abuse allegations.

“Look, people cheat for all kinds of reasons. But I feel like sometimes there’s past trauma,” Nick said, to which Jordan replied, “It sounds like you’re making an excuse for it.”

After Nick said he understood Jessi’s side, Jordan replied, “But do you understand the position I was in? I tried to explain it. Maybe it didn’t come across well.”

After Nick tried to explain why he felt bad for Jessi in this situation, Jordan seemingly backed down.

“There is no excuse. To answer your question very directly, yes [I feel like I was in the wrong]”, Jordan said. “I think my brain may have made up what you were saying.”

Nick still felt like Jordan wasn’t taking full responsibility.

“I’m not making excuses for Jessi but I understand. I understand why she felt so trapped and so lost and so alone,” he responded. “Man to man, it was your job. Whatever she did to you or however unsupported you felt, more than anything, it was your job to make her feel safe.”

In response, Jordan emphasized that they were both still a work in progress, concluding: “During that time, that’s what I was trying to do. But I think it really went too far at that point.”
