The SNGPL chief ensures the textile sector of the priority gas supply

Lahore: Managing Director of Suit Northern Gas Pipelines LTD (SNGPL) Amer Tufail, during his visit to the Office of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) on Tuesday, ensured the resolution of all questions related to gas in priority.
He said that export -oriented industry has always had high priority in gas supply, and SNGPL will continue to facilitate and cooperate fully with the textile sector to meet its energy needs. Amer also proposed to place a dedicated gas pipeline for factories that choose to operate 24 hours a day to protect them from breakdowns or pressure fluctuations.
The head of the SNGPL informed the APTMA that all efforts are made to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply to the entire industrial sector, in particular export -oriented units, including APTMA member factories. He said all the SNGPL field training was invited to remain vigilant and responsive to the needs of exporters, without any delay.
Amer asked that IPTMA notifies it directly in the event of non-cooperation or delay of SNGPL staff. He assured that all the concerns raised by Aptma would be discussed and resolved with sympathy.
Earlier, the APTMA management expressed concern about the high gas rate, describing it as unaffordable for exporters. They noted that gas consumption had dropped to only 13 mmcfd, compared to a normal demand of 150 mmcfd before the price hike.
