Miranda Cosgrove reflects children’s stars

Elsewhere in the interview, Cosgrove has thought about unique pressures to be a little star and the role that parents can play in the lives of young artists.
“It’s like work for adults in an adult world, and a child is really strange there,” she said. “So many children end up acting because their parents wanted them to do it, and I think that is where it becomes really messy and complicated because it is much more on the parent than the child.”
Cosgrove’s message is similar to McCURDY, which openly spoke of the abuses she suffered in her mother during her acting time.
“My first memories of childhood were heaviness and chaos,” said McCurdy in an interview with People. “My mother’s emotions were so erratic that it was like walking a tightrope every day. Mood fluctuations were daily.”
“My mother had always dreamed of being a famous actor, and she became obsessed with me a star,” she added. “I felt like my job was to maintain peace. And I wanted to make my mother happy.”
