Milan Bergamo Airport stopped for almost 2 hours after the man was sucked in the jet engine and killed

Rome – All flight operations at Milan Bergamo airport were suspended for almost two hours on Tuesday after a man was sucked in the engine of a leaving and killed plane, according to the Pays Ansa national news agency.
Police and firefighters responded to the airport’s scene, which is around 37 miles east of Milan, and an investigation was underway to determine exactly what happened, according to Ansa.
The airport has confirmed the suspension of traffic “due to a problem on the taxi route”, in an article on its official social networks, adding that “the causes of the problem are currently inquired by the authorities”. He indicated that the closure lasted from 10:20 a.m. to noon local time.

During the suspension, at least eight runners were canceled, while the arriving flights were diverted to other airports in the region, including those of Bologna, Verona and Milan Malpensa.
The airplane involved was an Airbus A319 operated by the low -cost airline Volotea, for a bergame flight in Asturias, in northern Spain. The incident would have taken place shortly after boarding the plane ended and moved away from the terminal.
According to Ansa, the victim entered the track with the intention of committing suicide. The man, who was neither a passenger nor an employee of the airport, escaped the security staff and ran to the plane when he was already in motion.
The authorities did not publish the identity of the person.
