Miami beats Ole Miss to match last year’s win total (7)

Shelton Henderson had 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead Miami to a 75-66 victory over Ole Miss in the ACC-SEC Challenge Tuesday night in Oxford, Miss.
The Hurricanes (7-2) matched their win total from last season and ended a 16-game road losing streak, winning their first true road game since Jan. 24, 2024, at Notre Dame.
Miami made a season-high 11 3-pointers on 25 attempts (44%), led by Tru Washington, who made 4 of 6 from deep and finished with 17 points. Washington also had seven rebounds and three steals.
Travis Perry and Patton Pinkins each had 11 points to lead the Rebels (5-3), who lost their third straight game. Malik Dia also had nine points and nine rebounds.
Miami led 47-28 with 18:27 left in the second half when Ole Miss replaced all five starters. Led by Koren Johnson’s six points during a 12-2 spurt, the Rebels cut Miami’s lead to 49-40 over the next two minutes, 40 seconds.
Ole Miss held on and cut the Hurricanes’ lead to nine again with 5:29 left on a Perry jumper. But Washington responded with five quick points for Miami, which helped them ultimately seal the victory.
Miami held Ole Miss to 26 points in the first half, which was its lowest output so far this season, and to just 25.8 percent shooting (8 of 31) from the field. The Rebels shot 34.8 percent (23 of 66) for the game, despite shooting 11 of 26 from 3-point range. Perry made three of those triples.
Malik Reneau scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds while Tre Donaldson had 11 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Hurricanes.
Miami was without guards Dante Allen and Marcus Allen. Dante Allen is expected to miss several weeks with an upper-body injury, while Marcus Allen is considered a matchup with a lower-body injury.
