Apple AI models, Ruoming Pang, leaves the business to work at Meta, Bloomberg reported on Monday. This marks the latest AI high-ranking metal-PDG, Mark Zuckerberg, has recovered to direct its new AI superintelligence unit.
Pang previously led the Apple internal team which formed the AI Foundation models that underlie Apple Intelligence and other AI to disc features, according to the report. The Apple AI models were not exactly a huge success – they are much less able than what OpenAi, Anthropic and even Meta offer. Apple would have even planned to type third -party AI models to feed its next AI compatible Siri upgrade.
Sources have told Bloomberg that Pang’s departure could be the first of many from Apple troubled AI unit.
Nevertheless, Pang could bring expertise in the design of small models of AI available in Meta, joining a range of talents that Zuckerberg has poache in recent months, including leaders of Google Deepmind, Openai and a safe super -deligence.
