While speaking with Extra, Melissa explained that she recently met her sister-in-law after years of estrangement and hopes they can finally work things out.

“We’re in a different place than we were a few months ago. Let’s just say…everyone’s working on it. We’re working on it. We’re trying to move forward and we’ve, you know, discussed a lot of things privately without all of this. And I think that’s a good thing,” she said.

Melissa hinted that while she and her husband’s reunion with Giudice was unexpected, she’s glad they reconnected when they did.

“Whatever it takes to wake someone up, you know, that’s how life happens, right? And you never want it to be a funeral or a wedding or someone in the hospital. That’s not what we want. So it was a more natural reason,” she said.

Melissa, her husband Joe and her biological sister, Giudice, have been arguing on and off for a decade on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

Things reached a boiling point after season 14 aired in 2024, when Giudice declared she would never speak to her family again after another explosive run of episodes chronicling their intense family drama.

“We just want to fix this, and we want to get back together. And for the kids, you know, we have little kids who are, you know, teenagers too who watch this and the behavior repeats itself. And that’s never what I want to see happen,” Melissa said.

Melissa’s comments come just weeks after Giudice admitted she was ready to reconcile with her brother and sister-in-law during a podcast appearance, saying, “Time heals all wounds. And when time passes, you forget things.”

Like Melissa, Giudice also reflected on the example she sets for her four daughters by keeping her family out of her life.

“Gia and I were in Special Forces. We spent a lot of time together before we joined Special Forces, and we talked a lot about a lot of things. So I want to be a good example for my kids,” the OG of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” said, according to The Blast.

“Be a nice family,” she said. “If someone doesn’t get along, be the bigger person. Try to make it work. I have to practice what I preach.”

While fans will likely have to wait a little longer to get a glimpse of Melissa and Giudice’s new normal, the “Sprinkle by Melissa Gorga” owner expressed optimism for their future.

“We can always hope that it will be different this time, but I think everyone grows. I do. I think we learn from our mistakes and we grow and we all know we’ve made mistakes and I think that’s a big part of it,” she said.

Giudice also gave an update on her relationship with her family at BravoCon 2025, saying they were in a “good place.”

“I talked to my brother first – because I thought it was right – he was really happy to see me. I was happy to see him,” she said.
